The path to the Petanu starts by the pool terrace, and you can take it whenever you like. Most guests go early, before the heat.
It takes about an hour there and back. The path goes down through the garden and past the last villas, into the valley itself. The trees meet above you and the air becomes several degrees cooler. After a minute you can no longer see the resort, and what you hear instead is water, louder at every turn of the path. At the bottom there is a river. For a thousand years, Balinese stories have said that it should not exist.
The walk is free. There is no guide and nothing to book. Ask at reception and they will point you to the start of the path.

Before you go
- Wear shoes that can get wet.
- The walk back up is steep. Take your time.
- If steps are difficult for you, say so at reception. We will tell you honestly if this walk is right for you.
