The empty shala in the morning: the net over the valley, the jungle beyond

The riverside shala

Practice above the Petanu, to the sound of the river

You stop listening for the teacher and start listening to the river. The shala stands at the lowest point of the resort, open on all sides to the gorge; the forest closes around, and the practice borrows its rhythm from both. Nothing here needs a speaker with jungle sounds. The jungle is present.

The morning class

The class gathers at 9:00 and runs when booked. Reserve by 19:00 the day before at reception or by WhatsApp. One hour, IDR 200,000 per person; mats and blocks are in the shala. Cancellation is free until 21:00 the evening before; after that the full class price is charged.

Private sessions

For a practice built around you (level, intention, hour of the day), private sessions are arranged on request. Sunset in the shala is the hour our guests ask for most.

Teachers and groups

The shala takes visiting teachers and whole groups, up to 20 people, which is the ceiling of a group that still feels like a retreat. If you are planning one, start with the honest numbers: Host a retreat.

An evening class in the shala: the sun setting through the trees, the net over the valley behind

The shala is the lowest point of daily life at the resort: twenty steps down from the garden level to the landing, and eleven more from there. We say it plainly, and the whole terrain is described honestly here: Getting Around the Resort.
