Retreats

The right place
for your retreat

Bring your people and your program. The valley is already here

You bring the people and the program. The valley does the rest. Two hectares on the rim of the Petanu gorge, twenty suites and villas, a shala above the river and one kitchen that feeds everyone, to a menu you have had a hand in.

To be straight with you: a retreat does not buy out the resort. Other guests are here the same week, and the place is quiet enough that it rarely matters. If your group wants nobody else in sight, take Villa Oia: its own grounds, its own gate, its own pool.

Here is what is waiting for you.

A morning session in the shala, the group facing the trees
Four people meditating in a row at the edge of the shala
An evening class in the shala: the sun setting through the trees, the net over the valley behind
Three people talking in the shala at sunset, the jungle lit behind them
A suite along the valley rim
Suites & villas

Twenty of them, along the rim

Five categories along the valley rim, plus a four-bedroom estate of its own. Take a few, take most of them. It is up to you.

Food

One kitchen, every meal

Restaurant, bar and in-room service run from the same kitchen. Your group eats to a set menu built on ours. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are already there, and swaps or additions are agreed with the chefs before you arrive, so nobody waits at the table. For retreat groups the minibars are stocked to your list before you arrive. Just send it ahead.

Room for twenty

An open pavilion above the river, no walls. Twenty people is the ceiling, and it is also the size at which a group still feels like a retreat.

The spa

Hidden Gem Spa, 09:00–21:00

Balinese massage, hot stones, Shirodhara and two-hour bath rituals, in rooms that open straight into the trees, a level walk from the shala.

What it costs

Our lowest rate, from the first email

Organisers get the lowest rate a room ever sells for: the number at the bottom of the range, not a starting point for negotiation. No commission is built into it, because there is no agency between us.

Send your dates and the size of your group, and you get real numbers back, not a brochure.

I want to host a retreat

Our recommendation

Start with Villa Oia

A thousand square metres on its own grounds: four bedrooms, a private pool, a kitchen and a staff of its own. There are no steps anywhere once you are inside. It is the piece of the property built for exactly this: the teachers stay in it, the group takes the suites around it, and the villa becomes the heart of the week.

How we work

The terms, in plain language

These are the retreat terms of The Hidden Paradise, written out in full so that nothing in the agreement comes as a surprise. They apply to every retreat booking.

  • 1 · Booking and pricing. Retreat pricing follows our current room rates at the time of your enquiry and varies with the season, occupancy, room types and any exclusive-use requests. Dates are provisional until the first payment arrives; the price is locked in once the first 30% is paid. Additional services and exclusive use are quoted separately and added to the final agreement.
  • 2 · Payment in three parts. 30% to confirm the booking, 40% thirty days before check-in, 30% on the day of check-in. If a payment is missed, the booking may be cancelled and the dates released.
  • 3 · If you cancel. We keep half of what has been paid by that moment and refund the other half. Thirty days or more before check-in that means we keep 15% of the total and return 15%; less than thirty days before, we keep 35% and return 35%. Every cancellation must reach us in writing.
  • 4 · Rooms and numbers. Your group is housed according to the room allocation and capacity agreed in the contract, and the organiser keeps participant numbers within those limits. Changes to rooming or group size must be told to us in advance and may change the price. A change of room type on the day of arrival depends on availability: a higher rate is settled at check-out, a lower one is not refunded.
  • 5 · The shala and the common areas. Spaces work on time slots agreed in advance, and the organiser sends us a daily schedule before arrival. A few hours a day, as agreed, are included; exclusive use of a space for a half-day or a full day is an extra and depends on availability. Outside your slots the spaces may be used by other guests or scheduled activities, and any change to the schedule is discussed beforehand.
  • 6 · Meals. All meals during a retreat come from our own restaurant; outside catering is not permitted. Group menus are built to order: dietary preferences, vegetarian and vegan requirements, and your budget all shape them.
  • 7 · Additional services, subject to availability: airport transfers by car or group transport, yoga mats and blocks in the shala, on-site coordination, spa treatments daily from 9:00 to 21:00, ceremonies, cultural experiences and excursions. All of these are arranged in advance and may carry an extra charge.
  • 8 · The property. The organiser answers for the respectful use of the resort. Damage, excessive cleaning or breaches of the house rules caused by participants are charged accordingly.
  • 9 · Agreement. By confirming a retreat booking and making the first payment, the organiser accepts all of the above.

The same terms come with the written agreement before you pay anything.
